Server Rules
The following rules seem to be very strict at first when read, but actually
they are commonly accepted rules for most clans or communities. The main reason to publish them in this way is to make sure that everybody
understands how issues are dealt with, and there cant be misunderstanding about the interpretation of it.
Our server admins are specifically instructed to watch inappropriate behavior, and fully entitled to enforce our server rules, so please
follow their suggestions.
Avoid discussions. If you get warned for something and you know that you were
wrong, don't argue. It will end up in useless and endless chatting, which will normally end up in a boot. The admin wants to play too, and
not act as a policeman 24/7.
Furthermore, endless discussions annoy other players too. They really don't want to be
mixed up in such a conversation. They are in our server to play, not to discuss.
If there is really an issue, ask the Admin to come to spectator mode and
work things out.
All players will, if necessary, be warned (a few times) about their behavior, before actions are taken. If for some reason you think that
our admins do not treat you fair, get yourself a screenshot and mail it, together with your comment, to: staff@teamgor.org
Respect
Be respectful to any person that visits the «GoR» game server. Don't go beyond the universal accepted moral standards
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, name calling, ridiculing,
threatening and destructive public humiliation not of a joking or friendly manner toward any member of «GoR» or any public player.
You will be warned once.
1. Running
No running. There is only tolerance towards that if it is used for DEFENSIVE purposes only. This applies only to 2 situations. To find
COVER when fired upon, or when nades are coming your way. (In (short) future, our gameserver will only allow 1 nade per person per spawn, this to prevent nadingparties.)
Unfortunately, it still is possible to run in our game server. You must move around the map in the crouch position
Players using running for offensive purposes (charging, burst running, running corners, pee pee-dance) will be warned and if ignored kicked.
Excessive breaking of these rules will get you warned and, if ignored, eventually kicked.
2. Spawn killing
Deliberate killing of players in their own spawn zone will not be allowed. It
speaks of very bad sportsmanship, and frustrates other players to the extent that they will leave, perhaps never to return. When you can look
into a region of the map where frequently players spawn, you are expected hold your fire and allow your enemy to find cover.
Furthermore you are expected to retreat to a position where you cannot see people
spawn. The only two options that will allow firing into a spawn zone: when you are fired upon from it and you RETURN fire, or passing along it
in the heat of battle. Again its up to the sportsmanship of the player how to handle this, but excessive use of these two options will get you
warned and, if ignored, eventually kicked
In
future the «GoR» game server will make use of a spawn popper to prevent excessive spawn killing from players.
3. Acrobatics
Bunny hopping, Pee Pee-Dancing, (Corner) Charging, Burst running and Wiggling are NOT tolerated under ANY circumstance on «GoR»’s game server.
Bunny hopping is deliberate and continuously jumping while moving, to dodge
enemy fire or let your enemy miscalculate his aim.
Pee Pee-Dancing is the act of deliberately and quickly RUNNING left to right and back to
dodge enemy fire or let your enemy miscalculate his aim. (WALKING left and right is not considered Pee Pee-Dancing).
Charging is deliberate switching from walk to RUN speed in close combat towards
your enemy.
Corner charging is deliberately RUNNING around corners to surprise a possible
enemy, dodge enemy fire or let your enemy miscalculate his aim.
Burst running is deliberately switching from walk speed to run speed and back,
to avoid life drain from any possible run or bleeding modification, and trying to get (back) into position earlier than the normal tactical
rules allow. Furthermore, burst running is a tool to dodge enemy fire or let your enemy miscalculate his aim and will NOT be tolerated.
Wiggling is deliberate continuously bending your torso left, right and back (like
you do when peeking a corner) while moving, to dodge enemy fire or let your enemy miscalculate his aim.
Excessive breaking of this rule will get you warned and, if ignored, eventually
kicked.
These are the rules we go by, please respect them, as we respect you.

Server Settings
«GoR» is a TACTICAL SERVER - This means NO RUNNING UNLESS UNDER FIRE.
We are currently running the GoR Extreme mod 1.4
Be advised that due to the client-server architecture of the CoD2 multi-player game, each visit you make to
a public gaming server may involve downloading files or "mods" to your PC, so that you can and will play by that server's settings / rules. This is a
slight departure from other First Person Shooter (FPS) On-line multiplayer games (like MoH) where most or all of these custom mods are run server-side.
As with any download, there are some potential risks that this client / server architecture presents.
We test the mods that run on our server and want to ensure fair and consistent game play.
We don't install Trojans, worms viruses or other "scum ware" onto your PC. However, there are no
stated or implied guarantees or warranties extended to you when you decide to join our server and install the necessary mods to do so.
We have no tolerance for cheaters! We reserve the right to scan those who play on our server for cheats.
We also reserve the right to kick and ban cheaters from our server. Furthermore, we will report cheaters to the Cheat Police including the tactical clan
community.
Buying the CoD2 game does not buy the right to play on our server. If you play on our server you do so by
choice. With mentioned reservations in mind, all consequences of playing on our server will be accepted.
How to remove the GoR Extreme mod from your PC:
Note: if you want to save any screenshots taken while playing with a particular mod, you need to move them
from the
GorExtreme\Screenshot Folder
Open the folder below:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2
You
should see the following folders:
Main
Miles
Docs
GorExtreme
Simply delete the folder named "GorExtreme" from your hard drive.
The folders: Main, Miles and Docs are vital to the stock version of the game. Deleting them will likely
result in a complete re-install of the game.
If you are experiencing weird issues with your game, you might try deleting other Mod folders (E.G.: LMS).
They will download again when you revisit that server.
